Abstract
The paper focus on a recent production of La sonnambula (2012) at the Stuttgart Staatsoper. Combining performing arts and historical-critical researches, the study shortly describes the dramaturgy and highlights a primary source of Bellini’s Sonnambula previously unknown: La Villageoise somnambule ou Les deux fincées, comédie-vaudeville by François-Victor-Armand d’Artois and Jean-Henri Dupin, fist staged at the Paris Théâtre des Variétés on October 15, 1827.
